One of the most interesting things I saw at the Florida Dive Show was
Zeagle's Ascent Freediving BC Belt.
The Ascent Freediving BC gives freedivers the benefits of a BC -- by helping them ascend and descend -- but is streamlined enough to facilitate easy swimming.
Featuring an 11-pound lift capacity Ballistic Bladder and a front-mount dump-valve with an integrated over-pressure valve, the Ascent Freediving BC carries either a 4 or 6 cubic foot aluminum cylinder and a valve/regulator first stage combination.
According to Zeagle, an average freediver can make a dozen or more dives before needing to refill the Ascent.
